I had new members attend a recent workshop. Of course, I was asked the inevitable question; 'what is your favorite wine?' As I had not been asked in a while, the question was thought provoking. My first thought was, I'll post my "top ten."

Alas, it was not possible, in order to be fair to all. Thus, my all time 20/20 (100 points today)scored wines amount to 13. Here they are, for your possible interest. They are listed in the order tasted, rather than vintages.

Chateau d'Yquem 1967. Tasted in 1978 at Bollinger with Christian Bizot.

Chateau Margaux 1953. Tasted in 1979 at a London dinner.

Chateau Musar 1988. Tasted in 1993 at Bordeaux Shippers, Scottsdale, AZ. with winemaker, Serge Hochar.

Opus One. Enjoyed in 1993 with Robert Mondavi on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne 1986. Tasted in 1997 at Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas.

Royal Tokaji Wine Company Mezes Maly 1993. Tasted in the cellars at Mad in 1999.

Chateau Cheval Blanc 1989. Tasted in 2000 at Flamingo Hilton, Las Vegas.

Campogiovanni Brunello di Montalcino1997. Tasted at the cellars in 2002.

Pisa Range Estate Pinot Gris 2010. Tasted in New Zealand in 2013.
